CBS journalist fired over Paterno death report

Inaccurate news reports can have many consequences. People can get hurt. Reputations can get tarnished. People lose faith in media organizations – and in the media in general. And people get fired. That’s what happened to the CBS newsman who prematurely reported Joe Paterno’s death. Adam Jacobi tweeted an apology on Friday and announced that he’s now a former CBS employee.

    I completely understand and suport why a person is held accountable for they may say. When writing one must be conscious of who it affects as well as how accurate they tell stories.
